Calm Space
Super Taper by Architect Jack McKinney – this extensive renovation project extends beyond the traditional weatherboard villa frontage through to amplified living spaces featuring a steep pitched and offset vaulted ceiling that sheds light across the angular surfaces. A clever connection to the outside pool area is the ‘floating wall’ with glass base allowing views to the outside pool level.
Rockcote Otsumigaki our Japanese inspired plaster was selected and applied to the wall and ceiling surfaces creating a soft, and calming space. ‘Otsumigaki’ translates to pressed plaster and is a traditional Japanese plastering technique used to compress and polish fine white clay plasters. Otsumigaki is hand applied in two coats and polished with a penetrating carnuba wax creating luxurious finished surfaces.
