Recently opened in Albany, Auckland is the new EVERLAST store. The Architect – Matt Godward, Godward Design Space provided a digital render of his vision for the look and feel of this new development. The finished result reflects a very accurate response to his design. The feature wall in the business utlised our hand applied, pre-coloured ROCKCOTE Velvetina that was burnished for that concrete look after which Kevin Cotter, owner of PDS applied our protective wax to give the Velvetina finish additional depth.

See our latest interior specialist plaster finishes, INTEGRA lightweight concrete flooring, facade and fencing systems for your next project.

To mark the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in June 2016, the building has been named as the Queen Elizabeth II Pukeahu Education Centre. The centre will also include a small display honouring Mother Aubert and the Sisters of Compassion. In August 2016 the centre was opened by the former Governor-General Sir Jerry Mateparae accompanied by the former Prime Minister Rt Hon John Key and the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage Hon Maggie Barry.

Founder of the Sisters of Compassion Suzanne Aubert has been declared ‘venerable’ by the Catholic Church.

The declaration by Pope Francis is a major milestone on the path to sainthood being bestowed on Mother Aubert, who came to New Zealand from France in 1860 and died here aged 91 in 1926.

The Sisters of Compassion provide many charitable services, including running a soup kitchen in central Wellington.

Our Rockcote Marrakesh tadeladkt lime plaster finish was the selected finish to interior walls. Hand applied and finished by stone polishing.

This example of plastering craft was completed by Totara Coatings, Wellington.

The New Zealand house that hemp built

The next episode on Grand Designs NZ is screening tonight on TV3 at 8.30pm features.

See our ROCKCOTE lime plasters in action, inside & out. All applied over a hemp structure.

Hemp is turning a new leaf in Taranaki, with a house made of the marijuana-like plant featuring on tonight’s Grand Designs NZ.

New Plymouth couple Greg Whitham and Gayle Avery wanted to build a rustic French farmhouse-style home for their extended family – and they wanted to do this using hemp.

But being one of the first hemp homes in New Zealand presented numerous challenges, with the results revealed on tonight’s episode of the hit TV3 series.

Wellington’s latest luxury property destination of 76 apartments, designed by Athfield Architects is located on an historic wharf, whose construction began in 1894 and which opened in 1908; then, in the ’60s, it was developed into the Overseas Passenger Terminal, designed by the former Wellington mayor Michael Fowler’s firm Morton, Calder, Fowler & Styles. It was an elegant structure with a 17m-high spire that has been retained and set on top of the new building. Other elements from the terminal have been reused also, including large mosaic artworks, a world clock and steelwork.

Rockcote LiteRock Solid Plaster System was selected to finish multiple areas of the project. This system offers a lightweight, fibreglass reinforced system that will take the punishment from this high exposure site in it’s stride.

Premium Rockcote pre-coloured acrylic ‘CLASSICO’ texture was the finish with 2 coats of Resene X200 weatherproof paint to further enhance the durability and keep this stunning project looking it’s best into the future.
